In fact, Calgary’s average price only decreased by 2.6% over the previous year (2007 average was $472,230 and 2008 average price finished at $460,327) ,a far cry from the speculated “doom and gloom” that so many predicted. It is true that there is a higher amount of inventory for buyers to choose from, and a reduced amount of sales, but that is rather consistent of the season on an annual basis. However, since January 1st 2009, sales have been on the rise and buyers and sellers alike are coming out of the woodwork looking for new real estate opportunities.
